Notice Inviting Applications for Empanelment of Advocates for ICAR The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is a self-governing organization in India that coordinates agricultural education and research. It reports to the Ministry of Agriculture's Department of Agricultural Research and Education. Its president is the Union Minister of Agriculture. It is the world's most extensive network of agricultural research and education institutes. Applications are invited from eligible advocates enrolled with Bar Council of States for constitution of ICAR panels of advocates – one for the States other than Delhi and the other for Delhi State for conducting litigations before various courts, namely, the Supreme Court of India, the High Courts of States, all benches of the Central Administrative Tribunal and other courts/forums for and on behalf of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), an autonomous organization Registered under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860, and its constituent units viz. ICAR-Institutes located across India.

Eligibility Criteria:

For empanelment as panel advocate, the aspirant advocates should be familiar with the various branches of law and has specialization in constitutional law, service law, labor law, land acquisition, arbitration law, contract law etc. and shall have not less than 7 years practice experience for High Court or CAT and have not less than 5 years for District Court/Labor Court after enrolment with Bar Council of State. The panel advocate for Supreme Court shall possess experience of not less than 5 years practice as Advocate-on-Record.

Term of Empanelment:

The empanelment will be initially for a period of two years, on completion of which it may be renewed further subject to review of performance.

Fee Payable:

Fee payable to the empaneled advocates for their services shall be as per the Fee Schedule of ICAR revised from time to time.
