Enforcement Directorate Attaches Multiple Properties of Nawab Malik

Under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today provisionally attached properties belonging to Mr. Mohammed Nawab Mohammed Islam Malik @ Nawab Malik, his family members, M/s. Solidus Investments Pvt. Ltd., and M/s. Malik Infrastructure.

On the basis of a FIR filed by NIA on 03.02.2022 under section 120 B of the IPC and sections 17, 18, 20, 21, 38, and 40 of the UAPA, the ED launched a money laundering probe into Dawood Ibrahim and others. Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar @ Dawood Bhai, Haji Anees @ Anees Ibrahim Shaikh, Shakeel Shaikh @ Chhota Shakeel, Javed Patel @ Javed Chikna, and Ibrahim Mushtaq Abdul Razzaq Memon @ Tiger Memon are identified as suspects in the aforementioned FIR. According to the FIR, Dawood Ibrahim began supervising his criminal activities in India after he left India through close friends such as Haseena Parkar @ Haseena Aapa and others.

Mrs. Munira Plumber’s premium property was usurped by Nawab Malik through M/s Solidus Investments Pvt. Ltd., a firm owned by Nawab Malik’s family members and controlled by Nawab Malik, with active connivance of D-Gang members including Haseena Parkar, according to an ED investigation. Haseena Parkar and Nawab Malik conspired to take over this land and signed various legal documents to give the crime a veneer of legitimacy.

M/s. Solidus Investments Private Limited (a company controlled by Mr. Nawab Malik.) and Haseena Parkar, Sardar Shahvali Khan, Salim Patel, and Nawab Malik illegally usurped property/proceeds of crime that is a three acre prime land with building/structure etc. at Goawala Compound, Kurla (West), Mumbai, according to a money laundering investigation. These individuals fraudulently transferred Munira Plumber’s and her mother Mariyam Goawala’s land by registering it in the name of M/s Solidus Investments Private Limited using fake/forged documents. According to section 2(1)(u) of the PMLA, 2002, the property CTS No. 336, 336/1 to 5 and 7 to 24, 336 / 25 & 338, Goawala Compound, Kurla (West), Mumbai has been wrongfully usurped and is Proceeds of Crime.

Mr. Nawab Malik’s two firms, M/s. Solidus Investments Pvt. Ltd. and M/s. Malik Infrastructure, have collected rent of Rs. 11.70 crore from this property, which is also Proceeds of Crime.

As a result, the Enforcement Directorate has placed a temporary lien on properties owned by members of his family, including M/s. Solidu Investments Pvt. Ltd and M/s. Malik Infrastructure. The following properties are described in detail:

i) Goawala Compound, Kurla (West).

ii) Commercial Unit at Kurla West, Mumbai

iii) Agricultural Land at district Osmanabad Maharashtra admeasuring area 59.81 hector in (Total Area 147.794 acres).

iv) Three flats in Kurla West, Mumbai

v) Two residential flats in Bandra West, Mumbai

Further investigation is under progress.
