• DM/DNB in the speciality concerned.
• Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience after qualifying DM/DNB in the speciality concerned.
• The qualification in the speciality should be a recognized qualification as per the provisions of the IMC Act.

For the post of Specialist (Sr. Scale):

• A recognized MBBS degree qualification is included in the first schedule or second Schedule or Part II of the third Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). Holders of Educational qualification included in Part II of the third schedule should also fulfil Subsection (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956).
• Post Graduate Degree in the concerned speciality.
• Five years of experience in the concerned speciality after obtaining my First Post graduate degree.
• Note: In case of holders of Doctorate of Medicine (D.M) or Master of Chirurgical (M.Ch) qualification of five years’ duration, the period of senior Post graduate residency rendered in the last part of said Doctorate of Medicine (D.M) or Master of Chirurgical (M.Ch) shall be counted towards the requirement of experience.
