Extend Due Date of filing Income Tax Return & TAR for F.Y 2020-21 for a Month
Tax Bar Association Jodhpur has requested Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman (Hon’ble Finance Minister) to extends the due dates for submitting of various Audit Reports & Income Tax Returns for Tax Audit cases under the Income Tax Act.
Firstly, There has been surge in Covid cases since 01.01.2022 all over the country and many states have imposed restrictions on movement. Prominent restrictions are as under:
1. Closure of offices at around 5PM
2. Restrictions on number of person who can come to office. Offices are instructed to operate with 50% capacity.
3. Weekend lockdowns.
This has hampered workflow both at Auditee level and also at Auditor level.
Secondly, the New Income Tax Portal is not yet stabilised and issues are being faced by Auditors and Taxpayer in
1. Adding Digital Signatures
2. Uploading Tax Audit Forms
3. Uploading Supporting Documents
4. Adding CA
This is taking time in doing all these activities and as your goodself is aware time is short. Deadline is fast approaching.
Tax Bar Association Requests an extension of the Tax Audit and other audit-related Due dates and we request your good self to be kind enough to grant an extension at least for a month.

Sub: Request for extension of due date of Tax Audit Report and Other Reports
Hon’ble Sir,
Let us introduce our organization at first. We are a 500 plus member organization and our membership includes Chartered Accountants, Tax Advocates and Tax Practitioners.
4 of our members have so far been elevated to the post of Accountant member of ITAT and some of our members have been elevated to post of High Court judge.
We act as a bridge among taxpayers and department. We also keep educating members and trade about developments in taxation area and motivate trade and industry to be compliant of law.
As your goodself is aware that tax audit report and other audit reports date is approaching fast and as of now it is 15/01/2022.
Firstly, There has been surge in Covid cases since 01.01.2022 all over the country and many states have imposed restrictions on movement. Prominent restrictions are as under:

2. Restrictions on number of person who can come to office. Offices are instructed to operate with 50% capacity.
3. Weekend lockdowns.
This has hampered workflow both at Auditee level and also at Auditor level. The manpower reduction is to the extent of 100%, if we count at both levels.
This all is hampering workflow and reducing execution capabilities.
Madam, life is essential and as your goodself understands when life is at stake the first priority is to save life. This Omicron variant spreads very fast and thus everybody needs to take care before getting out for any work.
