Government Amends Earlier Notification Under RRB Act to Include Ladakh 

The Ministry of Finance has recently issued a notification dated October 30, 2025, to make an amendment in one of its previous notifications issued by the government (S.O. 1628(E), dated the 5th April, 2025). Now the updated notification includes both Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as Union Territories.

As per the notification, the central government, using its power granted under Section 23A(1) read with Section 3(1) of the Regional Rural Banks Act, 1976, is making changes to the earlier notification of the government. This change appears in Paragraph 9 of the earlier notification, where the words “Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir” are being replaced with the words “the Union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh“.
