Government May Get Record Rs. 2.5 Lakh Crore Dividend from RBI in FY25

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is ready to pay a record dividend of to Rs. 2.5 lakh crore to the government for the financial year 2024-25, as per the economist and analysts. This is much more than the payout of the previous year, which was Rs. 2.1 Lakh crore and this would result in reducing the need of the government to lend additional money this year.

If the real payout would be more than Rs. 2.5 lakh crore, it would be around 20% more than the dividends the RBI gave in the previous year. Crossing the budget of the government on their own would be so easy, which is approximately Rs. 2.2 lakh crore for the year. According to the Analysts this would result in strong support for the center’s finances , particularly in the year when the government is expected to spend more finances in order to boost the economy.
