The Department of Economic Affairs under the Ministry of Finance has set a certain interest rate on deposits made under the Special Deposit Scheme for Non-Government Provident, Superannuation and Gratuity Funds.

The Ministry has released an official Notification F. No. 5(3)-B(PD)/2023, dated October 05, 2026, notifying that an interest rate of 7.1% will now be levied on the deposits made under the Special Deposit Scheme for Non-Government Provident, Superannuation and Gratuity Funds, from October 01, 2026, to December 31, 2026.

The aforesaid scheme was announced in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Economic Affairs) Notification No.F.16(1)-PD/75 dated June 30, 1975. According to the notification, the rate has come into effect from October 01, 2026.
