Govt. Reconstitutes Advisory Board Under Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act

The Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) has recently released a notification (G.S.R. 177(E) dated 12th March, 2026) announcing the reconstitution of an advisory board under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1988 (46 of 1988). The notification is effective from March 23, 2026.

The central government, using its power given under section 9(a) of the PITNDPS Act, is replacing an earlier notification dated 28th February, 2025, by reconstituting the advisory board, including the following key persons:

  • Hon’ble Mr. Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani: Chairman
  • Hon’ble Mr. Justice Anish Dayal: Member
  • Hon’ble Mr. Justice Tejas Karia: Member

This board will serve for one year, starting from March 23, 2026.
