Govt Revises CVD Tariff Codes on Imports of Welded Stainless-Steel Pipes and Tubes: Effective May 2026
The Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) under the Government of India has issued a Notification No. 01/2026-Customs (CVD), dated April 30, 2026, informing that the Central Government has made certain amendments to an earlier Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) Notification No. 04/2024-Customs (CVD), dated September 10, 2024. This notification relates to the imposition of a Countervailing Duty (CVD) on imports of "Welded Stainless-Steel Pipes and Tubes" originating in or exported from China PR and Vietnam.
The government has made these changes in the use of its powers granted under sub-sections (1) and (6) of section 9 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), read with rules 20, 22, and 24 of the Customs Tariff (Identification, Assessment and Collection of Countervailing Duty on Subsidised Articles and for Determination of Injury) Rules, 1995.
In the said notification, wherever the figures "7305 11 29" appear, the figures "7305 11 41, 7305 11 49" will be replaced. The amendments specified in the notification have come into effect from May 01, 2026.
