Overview:

Volvo is hiring an experienced Product Finance Engineer (Powertrain) at their Bangalore location. In the role of Product Finance Engineer, you will Manage product cost, securing profitability in projects. You will be a one of the key player in the cross-functional product development team. You being the primary project resource for product cost in projects, will provide a pro-active and engineered product cost forecast in the product development phases. In some cases your role may be extended to a PM Finance role, including project cost and profitability calculations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Drive product cost optimization and control/monitor all activities throughout the project phases.
• Deliver the results from the product cost estimates in a timely manner and explain the analyses to the appropriate customers.
• Deliver full profitability analysis/business case for maintenance projects.
• Support a strong collaboration with Engineering, Purchasing and Cost Engineering bringing the product cost management culture into the cross functional work
• Support SCS (Standard Cost of Sales) handover activity to GTO in Mid/Late Phase.
• Support MCE (Material Cost Evolution) Controlling in product cost variance analysis.
• Support analyses for product cost at teardowns of competitors’ trucks
• Support improvement of Product Cost Controlling/Management processes, tools and skills
• Support Product Cost Roadmap activities
• Occasionally visit suppliers and technical exhibitions in order to have knowledge about production processes and product design.

Eligibility Criteria:

• You understand product cost challenges and has the ability to combine the business and technical mind-set to guide and influence the product development decisions from a financial perspective
• You have excellent communication skills, ability to communicate efficiently with people on all levels
• You collaborate and stay accountable for the deliveries. You appreciate team, teamwork and what it can achieve when it works. You realize that coordinated work is more productive than a string of individual actions.
• You value differences and has the ability to work within a multi-cultural environment and respect different opinions.
• You are action oriented and has strong problem-solving abilities.
• Minimum Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.( Master’s degree preferred)
• Preferably 3~7 years of experience from Engineering, Purchasing or Finance
• Experience and Technical knowledge in Powertrain area (Engine, Transmission + some Chassis parts) from automotive industry.
