West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee highlighted significant growth in the state’s property market during the fiscal year 2024-25. She reported that the number of registered deeds increased by 60,000, indicating a vibrant and active market. This surge contributed to a rise in revenue from stamp duty and registration fees, with collections reaching Rs. 1,908 crore more than the previous year, a 31.05% growth. These figures reflect the state’s commitment to self-reliance and fiscal discipline, the motive to make finances simpler for the welfare of residents of West Bengal.

In her post, she wrote that all this shows that they believe in self-reliance and fiscal discipline, and their administration is serious about streamlining the state’s finances for the welfare of the people of Bengal.

The CM said after the budget that almost 50% of the allocation was directed towards women. It was a Rs 3.8 lakh crore budget with a marginal deficit of Rs 0.1 crore.
