ICAI Extends last date for complying with the mandatory CPE hours Due to global impact of Covid-19 and the challenges faced by ICAI Members in meeting their mandatory CPE hour requirements during the calendar year 2021, the Competent Authority has decided to extend the deadline for meeting the CPE hour requirements for the calendar year 2021 from December 31, 2021 to February 28, 2022. Attending CPE Programs in physical/offline form or in virtual mode through Virtual CPE Meetings/Digital Learning Hub will suffice. As a result, the following should be noted: "Until February 28, 2022, the requirement of completing 20 Structured CPE hours, which is mandatory for Members under 60 years holding COP for Calendar Year 2021, can be fulfilled online (either through Digital Learning Hub or through Virtual CPE meetings including mandatory CPE hours on "Code of ethics" and "Standard on auditing") To be clear, if a member has earned more than 20 Structured CPE hours through the Digital Learning Hub and/or VCMs by February 28, 2022, only 20 Structured CPE hours will be counted for Calendar Year 2021 for compliance purposes. It is worth noting that members can obtain current knowledge and skills related to their professional responsibilities while also meeting the obligatory Structured CPE hour requirements through ICAI's Digital Learning Hub and Virtual CPE Meetings without paying a fee. Members who have completed their Unstructured Learning Activities (ULAs) but have not updated their information on the CPE Portal for the calendar year 2021 are encouraged to claim the CPE Hours credit for unstructured learning online by logging into their account on the CPE Portal at www.cpeicai.org. It should be reminded that members have until February 28, 2022 to satisfy their individual CPE hour requirements for the calendar year 2021, since no additional extensions will be given.
