ICAI Launches E-Diary Platform to Bring Transparency and Accountability in CA Practical Training The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has adopted a new chapter of Transparency and Integrity in Practical Training for Chartered Accountants (CAs), an initiative of the Board of Studies-Operations. The training can be done in a digital or online format. The board has introduced a combined digital platform called E-Diary for Article Assistants and Principals. The platform can be accessed at the Self-Service Portal (SSP).

The platform aims to bridge the gap, empower training, and ensure accountability. Additionally, the platform will save time for principals and students, ease and enhance administration. Every candidate starting the training from January 01, 2026, must be aware of the following key details about the platform: For students:
  • Transparency & Tracking, Real-time record of daily work, leave, and progress.
  • Skill Development, Structured recording of diverse assignments and learning.
  • Reduced Disputes, Clear evidence of work done, and minimised misunderstandings.
  • Stipend Management, Timely and accurate stipend payment records.
For principals:
  • Efficient Monitoring, Easy oversight of trainee performance and workload.
