ICAI’s Career Guidance Event Sets a New Guinness World Record, Inspires Thousands of Young Minds

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has secured a Guinness World Record for conducting the largest careers advice lesson during its flagship programme called “Career in Accounting and Finance for Youth (CAFY 4.0) & Super Mega Career Counselling Programme – भविष्य की राह“, which took place in Mumbai.

The programme was conducted with the aim of giving organised and inspiring career guidance to the students from Class VI to graduation. The guidance was provided for various streams, including humanities, science and commerce, and the emerging disciplines aligned with India’s dynamic economy.

The major highlight of CAFY 4.0 was the “Largest Career Advice Lessons” event. The session was carefully planned and followed all the required rules to break the Guinness World Record, with official checks by the adjudicator and witnesses.

The programme was inaugurated with a formal ceremony in the presence of ICAI dignitaries and senior government officials at NESCO Mumbai. The event was attended by over 7,400 students, teachers, principals and more. Out of these, 6166 students were officially counted to set the Guinness World Record.

Congratulating the team on this record-breaking achievement, the ICAI President, CA Charanjot Singh Nanda, said, “Achieving a Guinness World Record for the largest career advice lesson is a proud moment that shows how deeply ICAI values guiding young minds. Reaching over 6,166 students in one session has helped them make informed choices and opened doors to opportunities beyond borders, equipping the next generation with the wisdom, integrity and confidence to shape a stronger future.”

The students attending the programme were taught the difference between a job and a long-term career. The team helped students explore the emerging and diverse career opportunities in Science, Commerce, Arts, sports, etc.

The event focused on two sessions: “Choosing the Right Career” and “Guiding Students Towards Purposeful Careers“. These sessions emphasised self-awareness, individual strengths, personal interest, and thoughtful decision-making. The students were made aware of the career opportunities in the commerce stream, the course structure of CA, the types of scholarship and the global career opportunities for Chartered Accountants.

The session featured expert speakers who gave career advice. Along with this, ICAI leaders and special guests gave motivational speeches and talked about the importance of commerce education, financial literacy, and the role of CAs in the country’s development. The motivational speakers encouraged the students to stay positive, develop a growth mindset, and keep learning to adapt to new technologies and career opportunities.
