IGNOU Admission 2024: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has today extended the deadline for the “Re-registration” for all programmes offered in ODL/Online mode for the January 2024 session till July 15, 2024. Official declaration from IGNOU on Twitter, “The last date for “Re-registration” for all programmes offered in ODL/Online mode for the January 2024 session has been extended till 15th July 2024.” Candidates eligible can register themselves for the IGNOU ODL programmes on its official website i.e., ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. Earlier the last date for applying for the IGNOU registration was set as June 30, 2024, but now the date has been extended to July 15, 2024. The candidates who are unable to register earlier for the ODL and Online courses at UG & PG level have been awarded a great opportunity to save one year.

Both Indian and International students are allowed to register for the IGNOU Admission 2024. Candidates can register themselves by simply signing up at https://onlinerr.ignou.ac.in/ and after that selecting their courses evenly to prevent any study interruptions. Stepwise instructions for the IGNOU Admission 2024 Re-registration have been clearly mentioned below and also on the official website of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). The re-registration fee will depend on the courses you choose. Candidates will need to pay the fee using a Debit & Credit Card or Net Banking.

IGNOU Admission 2024: Important Instructions

The important instructions regarding the IGNOU Admission 2024 Re-registration are as follows:

  • Candidates will need to register on the online portal by clicking on the “New Registration” button.
  • Candidates are requested to provide their correct mobile number and e-mail ID because after the registration is confirmed the authority sends a confirmation SMS to the candidates also the other important updates will only reach the candidate if the mobile number and e-mail ID mentioned by them are correct.
  • If the candidate has already registered on the portal then he/she will just need to log in using the Username and Password. If candidates are finding difficulties in logging into the portal then such as not getting OTP/forgetting their Username/Password or any other difficulty can ask for help from your Regional Centre in re-setting their account/updating their email ID or mobile number.
  • Now choose the courses you want to study (wherever the option is given), and carefully choose the subjects as you need to study the chosen subject the entire year.
  • Candidates do follow due caution while making online transactions. Candidates are advised to never share their card details or OTP with anyone and prefer to use their own card or net banking to make payments.
  • Candidates are also allowed to make payments using the UPI and BHIM App. “Students of International Division may use online payment options available to them.”
  • Do not wait till the last date to register/fill in the re-registration form because the website sometimes crashes at the last moment.
  • If in case your online payment does not show updated, in that case, do not make the second payment immediately. Sometimes sites work slowly, hence wait for an entire day still the payment is not updated then make the second payment. But if by mistake or any reason you made two payments on the same application form, then you will be refunded one amount back to your account.
  • In case you are using third-party services like (cybercafe or others) for the submission of the application form, ensure your courses have been correctly chosen and payment has been successfully made. Please take out a printout of the submitted form and payment confirmation.

The following documents are required to register for the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Admission 2024:

  • Scanned Photograph (less than 100 KB)
  • Scanned Signature (less than 100 KB)
  • Scanned copy of relevant Educational Qualification (less than 200 KB)
  • Scanned Copy of Experience Certificate (if any) (less than 200 KB)
  • Scanned Copy of Category Certificate, if SC/ST/OBC (less than 200 KB)
  • Note: The scanned documents should be original. Once you upload all the required documents, click the next button. Preview option will open, Save/Print the form for future reference.
