IIBF Research Fellowship Registrations 2022-23: Check Eligibility and Dates, and How to Apply
The Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (IIBF) Invites applications for Diamond Jubilee and CH Bhabha Banking Overseas Research Fellowship (DJCHBBORF) – 2022-2023. The objective of the Fellowship is to give the successful candidate the chance to do research on the most recent advancements in banking and finance in India or abroad. Those who are interested in the fellowship can send the hard copy of the application (as per the format provided) to the address mentioned by the Institute before 10 April 2023. On successful completion of the project, the institute will pay the candidate a cash reward of Rs.1.00 lac.
The Indian Institute of Banking & Finance introduced the Diamond Jubilee Banking Overseas Research Fellowship in 1988 to mark its diamond jubilee year. In 2007-08, the CH Bhabha Fellowship which was offered by the Indian Banks’ Association was merged with the DJBORF and combinedly known as the Diamond Jubilee and CH Bhabha Banking Overseas Research Fellowship (DJCHBBORF).
For the applicant to be eligible for the IIBF fellowship, He/She should fulfill the following criteria –
1. holding a continuing membership of the Institute
2. Should be an officer in a bank/financial institution or other body recognized as such by the Council of the Institute for membership purposes for at least five years at the time of application.
3. Be no older than 50 years of age as of December 31, 2022
4. Have a postgraduate degree with at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade or points from a recognized university in India or abroad.
5. Be a Certificated Associate of the Institute (CAIIB)
6. The candidate must show sufficient prior interest/inclination in research.
1. Applicants should include all copies of relevant testimonials with the application form.
2. Along with the form, the thesis/study proposal (on any topic of the candidate’s choice relating to the most recent developments in banking and finance) should also be submitted.
3. The thesis proposal should be not less than 1,000 words.
4. Application should be forwarded to the Institute mentioned address before 10 April, 2023.
1. The Institute will select candidates for interviews based on the quality of the thesis proposal submitted, their qualifications, experience, and background.
2. The Committee will consider the candidates’ personalities, backgrounds, educational qualifications, and professional experience while deciding the awardee.
3. The likelihood of the candidate benefiting from their study abroad and his/her ability to make it useful to his/her institution and/or the Indian Banking System, as well as their ability to present ideas clearly, precisely, and persuasively in writing and orally to groups of senior management executives in his/her field of study.
4. In the selection of candidates for the interview and the ultimate selection of the awardee, the Institute’s decision will be final, and no questioning of the decision will be entertained from any quarter.
Some important conditions about which the candidates should be aware of while applying for the IIBF fellowship –
1. For the duration of the study, the candidate must choose a guide from the research institute. The candidate must specify his/her preference for the Institute, and the Institute will make every effort to secure a collaboration to complete the project.
2. The candidate must provide two copies of a publishable report within six months of completing the period of study/visit abroad, as applicable. If the report is not submitted on time, the fellowship may be forfeited.
3. The Fellowship winner will be provided with the cheapest economy class ticket for the shortest route from their place of work to their destination.
4. The scholar’s spouse or family is not permitted to accompany him or her during this visit.
