Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore is hiring applicants for Senior Editorial Manager, Senior Editorial Assistant, and IISc Archives Trainee positions in the Office of Communications (OoC) on a contract basis. The total number of vacant seat avail for the above post is 04. 

Age Limit for IISc Recruitment 2023:

As mentioned in the Official notification of IISc Recruitment 2023, IISc Recruitment 2023, the maximum age limit for Senior Editorial Manager and Senior Editorial Assistant is 50 years, and for IISc Archives Trainee the maximum age limit is 35 years.

Tenure for IISc Recruitment 2023:

As given in the official notification of IISc Recruitment 2023, the applicant will be hired for a tenure period of one year and may be extendable to four more years with an annual increment of 3% – 5% for the position of Senior Editorial Manager and Senior Editorial Assistant. However, the appointment of an IISc Archives Trainee is initially for a period of one year and may be extendable to one more year with an annual increment of 2%. Annual increments will be based on the requirements of the Institute and the satisfactory performance of the candidate. Contract tenure will commence from the date of joining.

Qualification for IISc Recruitment 2023:

Candidates applying for the IISc Recruitment 2023 must have the following qualification.

Senior Editorial Manager

Applicant should have a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent.

Desirable: 

Applicant should have a MS/PhD degree.

Senior Editorial Assistant

Applicant should have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline.

Desirable: 

Candidate should have MS/MBA/PGDM/Ph.D. degree with proven experience in science writing, editing and publishing, preferably in an academic institution or publishing house.

IISc Archives Trainee

Applicant should have a Master’s degree in any discipline

Desirable: 

A background in science, history, orvlibrary science is preferred.

Experience for IISc Recruitment 2023:

Senior Editorial Manager

• Candidate should have a minimum of 6 years of demonstrated experience in journalism, writing/science writing, editing, and copyediting/publishing, with a portfolio of published articles aimed at a general audience.
• Excellent project management, communication and organizational skills, proficiency in computer
  software and tools

Desirable: 

• Experience in science journalism, editing, and publishing, preferably in an academic institution, media outlet, or publishing house.
• Proven ability to manage diverse academic, science communication, and administrative projects.
• Experience in organizing workshops, courses and outreach events.
• Proven ability to work on tight deadlines and leading new initiatives or projects.
• Experience in academic writing and teaching students on how to communicate research.

Senior Editorial Assistant

Desirable: 

• Experience working with archives/archival material and recordkeeping.
• Experience in organizing seminars, workshops, and outreach events.
• Experience in teaching courses or classes related to writing/communication.
• Proven capability to work in a dynamic team on tight deadlines.
• Senior Editorial Assistant is expected to contribute to all the activities including publishing of science and campus-related magazines and newsletters, organizing popular lectures, maintaining the Institute’s archives, organizing courses and workshops for students through its Writing Centre, and demonstrating relevant experience

IISc Archives Trainee

• Candidate should have Prior experience working in an archive or library at an established academic institution or project in India.
• Familiarity with computers and working with spreadsheets, word processing, scanning tools, and other functions

Salary for IISc Recruitment 2023:

In accordance with the official notification of IISc Recruitment 2023, the selected applicant will get a monthly salary between Rs.18500 to Rs.75000.

Selection Procedure for IISc Recruitment 2023:

 As per the official notification of IISc Recruitment 2023, the shortlisted will be called for an interview and the final selection will be based on performance in the interview.
