IIT Bombay Recruitment 2023: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay invites online applications for the post of Junior Research Fellow and Research Associate on a contractual basis. As per the IIT Bombay Recruitment 2023, there is a total of 2 vacancies available for the above-mentioned positions, one for each post. Successful candidates will be initially employed for a period of one year which can be extended until the project completion date only. The selected candidate will have to work toward the completion of the assigned project.
As per the official notification for the IIT Bombay Recruitment 2023, selected candidates will get monthly remuneration of up to Rs 54,000. Apart from the salary, candidates will also be entitled to the HRA (House Rent Allowance). The Junior Research fellow will have to work on the project titled “Real-time Sensors for sustainable groundwater quality management“. The candidate selected for the position of Research Associate will have to work on the project titled “Nacre-mimetic Highly-filled Polyethylene Hybrids“.

Junior Research Fellow
Candidates having a Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Professional course selected through a process described through any one of the following:
a) Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
b) The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, etc.
Research Associate
Candidates having Ph.D/MD/MS/MDS or equivalent degree or having 3 years of research, teaching, and design and development experience after MVSc/M.Pharm/ME/M. Tech with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal is eligible to apply.

Junior Research Fellow
Candidates selected for the post of Junior Research fellow will have to work on a project titled “Real-time Sensors for sustainable groundwater quality management”. In this project, the selected candidate will have to perform the patterning of waveguides using laser lithography. The candidate will have to functionalize such waveguides with suitable ligands/moieties to attach intended heavy metals, to be detected.
Job Profile: Research and Development of the heavy metal sensing waveguide
The Junior Research Fellow position is for a period of 3 years, which will depend on the project’s complexity and the candidate’s performance. Candidates will be initially inducted for 1 year which can be extended up to the project completion time.
Research Associate
The selected Research associate will have to work on a project titled “Nacre-mimetic Highly-filled Polyethylene Hybrids”. The project is related to inorganic polymer nanocomposite materials and their self-assembly. Candidates with a good background in chemical engineering and experience in 3D printing will be able to work on this project.
Job Profile: Development of 3D printer for nanocomposite 3D printing and Development of suitable nanocomposite “inks” by tuning rheology.
