As per the Official recruitment notification, the Income Tax Department is hiring applicants for Meritorious Sportsperson posts. There are 20 Vacancies.

• Income Tax Inspector – 03
• Tax Assistant – 07
• Multi-Tasking Staff – 10

Age Limit for Income Tax Department Recruitment 2023:

As per the Income Tax Department recruitment notification, post-wise age limits are given below.

• Income Tax Inspector – The minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years.
• Tax Assistant – The minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 27 years.
• Multi-Tasking Staff – The minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 25 years.

Age Relaxation:

• 05 years for General/OBC candidates & 10 years in case of SC/ST candidates (As per OM dated 03.10.2013 of DoPT, Govt. of India, relating to Consolidated Instructions on Incentives for sportspersons)
• Departmental candidates with three years of continuous service in Central Government can apply up to the age of 40 years (45 years for SC/ST candidates).

Qualification for Income Tax Department Recruitment 2023:

1. Income Tax Inspector

Bachelor’s Degree from a Recognized University or equivalent.

2. Tax Assistant 

(i) Bachelor’s Degree from a Recognized University or equivalent.

(ii) Data Entry Speed of 8000 key depressions per hour.

3. Multi-Tasking Staff 

Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized University/Board.

Selection Procedure for Income Tax Department Recruitment 2023:

The selection procedure for the Meritorious Sportsperson posts are mentioned below.

The recruitment process will be in two phases.

• In the first phase, all the candidates will be ranked, as per their option for the post applied for, based on their achievements in sports. And in that field trials will be conducted and performance will be counted for ranking purposes.
• In the second phase, the shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test. The
  candidates will be required to appear for the same at their own expense.
• Candidates who are already employed in Central Government, State Government, or PSUs need to submit a NOC from the present employer which should be enclosed with the application.
• In case, a candidate applies for more than one post then he/she will be considered for appointment in the following order subject to his/her eligibility for appointment to such posts-
  (a) Inspector of Income Tax (b) Tax Assistant (c) Multi-Tasking Staff

As per the Income Tax Department Recruitment 2023 notification, Interested candidates can duly filled application forms as per Annexure-II should be sent in a closed cover superscribed with the words “Application for Recruitment in Sports Quota for the Post of Inspector/Tax Assistant/Multi-Tasking Staff” through Registered/Speed Post before the deadline.
