Income Tax Department Seizes Rs. 50 Lakh Cash from Vehicle in Hathras The Income Tax Department team seized Rs. 50 lakh cash from a vehicle near the Baraus Toll Plaza on Agra Road in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday evening. The officials intercepted the vehicle during a checking operation. Two people, the driver among them, were apprehended for interrogation. The vehicle was headed towards Agra from Aligarh when it was intercepted by the Income Tax department of the Agra unit. When the officials searched the car, they found a huge amount of money, which was counted on the spot. The amount was Rs 50 lakh. The car was owned by a businessman who was Agra-based. Baraus Toll Plaza CEO confirmed that the Income Tax Department team had intercepted the vehicle and detained the people. Police from the locality helped the team in the operation. The Income Tax Department is currently dealing with the legal process and will take custody of the seized money.
