The Income Tax Department has expanded the scope of the Saksham Nudge initiative to further include tax professionals in order to accelerate the filing process for Tax Audit Reports (TARs) for the Financial Year 2025-26 (Assessment Year 2026-27). The initiative is aimed at curbing mistakes and ensuring timely compliance.

The tax department has taken note that despite the extension in the due date, several professionals were still pending in completing their TAR filing; consequently, the department decided to expand the scope of the initiative. Previously, only taxpayers were considered part of the campaign; however, now professionals are also included.

Under the initiative, the department is sending SMS and email reminders to the tax professionals who have filed less than 50 per cent of the tax audit reports (Form 3CD) compared with the number filed by them in the previous financial year.
