As the deadline to file a Tax Audit Report (TAR) in Forms 3CA-3CD/3CB-3CD/10B/10BB for the Assessment Year 2026-27 (Financial Year 2025-26), i.e., September 30, 2026, is approaching, the Income Tax Department is sending a reminder message/SMS to the concerned taxpayers.

In the reminder message, the tax department has advised taxpayers to complete the TAR filing process well before the deadline to avoid last-minute rush and server congestion, as they have not made any official confirmation regarding the TAR deadline extension yet.

Here's an instance of a reminder message sent by the Income Tax Department to a taxpayer: "Dear ARCAXXXX82, Audit Reports in Forms 3CA-3CD/3CB-3CD/10B/10BB for A.Y. 2026-27 are due by 30-Sep-2026. Kindly file early to avoid last-minute rush. -IT Dept."

  • September 30, 2026: Last date for filing Tax Audit Reports (TARs) in Form 3CA-3CD/3CB-3CD/10B/10BB.

  • October 31, 2026: Last date for furnishing Income Tax Returns (ITRs) for audit cases.
