Income Tax raid in Rajasthan; Recovered huge Amount of Money
The Income Tax Department conducted raids in the Indian state of Rajasthan on Friday. The raids were taking place in the Ganpati Plaza in Jaipur’s capital city, according to the news agency.
Two lockers were cut open during the initial phase of the raids, and a large amount of cash was recovered from one of the lockers inside the plaza. A bag full of currency notes was discovered in a second locker, and the counting began.
These raids in Jaipur, Rajasthan come a month after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) politician Kirodi Meena claimed on October 13 that black money worth $60 million (approximately Rs. 50 crore) and 50 kilograms of gold were kept in 100 private lockers in Jaipur.
Rajya Sabha MP, Meena urged that the police open these lockers. He said that 50 of these lockers were operational and that 10 of them belonged to officials.
He further claimed that the lockers included black money obtained from the Congress-led state government via the recruitment paper leak scam, the state information technology department scam, and the Jal Jeevan Mission scam.
