Increase in Credit Card Charges: From June 1 this bank will Charge 1% on High Fuel Spending Kotak Mahindra Bank has announced that beginning June 1, 2025, it will implement a 1% fuel fee for purchases made on its credit cards when a customer's total fuel expenditure exceeds a certain limit for that month. This new rule applies only to some Kotak credit cards, with different spending limits depending on which card you have. Since fuel is a major monthly expense for most people, this new policy is designed to control heavy fuel spending on credit cards, particularly on premium cards that offer rewards.

Kotak Cards with No Fees

The following Kotak credit cards do not charge a 1% fee for fuel:
  • White Reserve Credit Cards
  • Kotak Solitaire
  • Kotak Infinite
  • Kotak Signature
  • IndianOil Kotak Credit Cards
  • Myntra Kotak Credit Cards
For all other cards, you will incur the 1% fee if your fuel transactions exceed the points below: Fuel Spending Limits Before Fee The 1% fuel fee will start charging when your fuel purchases exceed specific amounts within one billing cycle: Rs 50,000 threshold: White Signature, Privy League Signature, and Kotak IndiGo 6E XL Rewards Credit Cards Rs 35,000 threshold: Mojo Platinum, Zen Signature, Royale Kotak Signature, PVR INOX, 6E Rewards IndiGo Kotak Credit Card, Kotak BIZ, and NRI Royale Signature

Changes to Fuel Surcharge Benefits

Along with the new fee, Kotak has also updated the rules for fuel surcharge waivers on several credit cards starting June 1, 2025.
