Infosys was slapped with a GST Penalty Order of Rs. 1.46 Lakhs for availing of an ineligible Input Tax Credit.

Infosys slapped with GST Penalty order for availing ineligible ITC
Information Technology giant Infosys said in its exchange filing that the company had received a GST penalty order of Rs. 1.46 Lakhs from the Odisha GST Department for availing an ineligible Input Tax Credit (ITC). The Order was passed by the Assistant Commissioner of State, Odisha (GST).
As per the filing, the penalty has been imposed on ineligible Input Tax Credit (ITC) availed by the company in 2018-19.
However, the GST Order has no material impact on the financials, operations or other activities of the company.
The company apologized for the delay in submitting and stated that it was deciding what to do next after verifying the information.
