In the past, the All Gujarat Federation of Tax Consultants (AGFTC) and the Income Tax Bar Association (ITBA), Ahmedabad, also wrote a formal representation to the Hon’ble Finance Minister Smt Nirmala Sitharaman and the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), requesting to extend the due date for filing the Income Tax Returns (ITRs) and Tax Audit Reports (TARs) for the Assessment Year (AY) 2025-26. For making this request, the associations cited reasons including continuous glitches in the income tax portal, fewer working days due to the festive season, overlapping of other compliance due dates, etc. Hence, the government was urged to extend the due date for ITR (non-audit cases) and TAR filing till October 15, 2025, and November 30, 2025, respectively.
