TAR Deadline Extension: IT Practitioners Association Files Writ Petition in Punjab and Haryana High Court
The Income Tax Practitioners Association Amritsar has filed a Writ Petition in the Honourable Punjab and Haryana High Court to seek an extension of TAR from ITD. Matter is expected to be listed on Friday, September 26, 2025.
The case entry was initiated on September 23, 2025 and the e-file case was finally submitted on September 23, 2025.
The writ petition was filed in the interest of taxpayers and tax professionals. Other than Income Tax Practitioners Association, many associations are also seeking Tax Audit Report (TAR) and Income Tax Return (ITR) deadline extensions due to several reasons, such as portal glitches, overlapping deadlines and reduced working days due to festive seasons, Changes in tax audit clauses, Region-specific issues.
