The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announces bank holidays, which vary by state (RBI). During these days, both public and private banks will close their doors. Because many financial transactions still necessitate a trip to the bank, customers should be aware of such holidays, which vary by state.
Banks will be closed during the month of May due to prominent holidays such as Id-ul-Fitr, Buddha Purnima, and Bhagvan Shree Parshuram Jayanti. Saturdays are also designated holidays on the second and fourth Saturdays.
May 2 (Monday); Ramjan-Eid (Eid-UI-Fitra): Banks in Kerala are closed.
May 3 (Tuesday); Bhagvan Shree Parshuram Jayanti/Ramjan-Eid (Eid-UI-Fitra)/Basava Jayanti/Akshaya Tritiya: banks are closed across the country except in Kerala.
May 9 (Monday); Birthday of Rabindranath Tagore: Banks are closed in Bengal
May 16 (Monday); Buddha Purnima: Banks are closed in Tripura, Belapur, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana, Uttarakhand, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, New Delhi Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh and Srinagar.
