Mahadev Betting App Scam: ED Summons 4 more Bollywood Actors and Actresses after Ranbir Kapoor

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) issued summonses to comedian Kapil Sharma, as well as 3 actresses Shradhha Kapoor, Huma Qureshi and Hina Khan, in connection with the Mahadev betting app case on Thursday. This highlights the growing scope of the betting investigation, as more Bollywood celebrities are being drawn into it. The ED summoned Shradha Kapoor after summoning Ranbir Kapoor.

According to reliable sources, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is planning to summon 17 Bollywood Actors and Actresses. One of those summoned was actor Ranbir Kapoor, who has an appearance date of October 6 scheduled. However, the actor has requested a reschedule. The actor was not called in as a suspect, but rather to provide information about the source of funds he received for promoting the betting app.

The Mahadev online book betting app, according to information provided by the investigating agency in mid-September, is identified as an overarching syndicate that facilitates the operation of illicit betting websites. It accomplishes this by allowing these websites to register new users, create user IDs, and engage in illicit fund movement via a complex network of hidden bank accounts.

Furthermore, it has been revealed that the Mahadev app’s creators are also considering the operation of four to five similar applications, all of which are based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). These apps are said to generate substantial daily profits in the crores of rupees.

The ED (Enforcement Directorate) has revealed that extensive hawala operations are being used to funnel earnings from betting activities into offshore accounts, which is a concerning revelation. This indicates a sophisticated financial manoeuvring scheme, raising serious concerns about the scope and complexity of illegal betting activities associated with these apps.
