MCA to have Staggered due dates for submission of compliance Forms

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) is planning to introduce staggered due dates for the filing and submission of compliance forms of the MCA Portal.

This is done to tackle the issue of MCA Portal issues during the peak hours of MCA Filing. As seen from the past trend, the MCA portal receives high traffic on the last days of the filing of Companies and Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs), which creates a heavy load on the portal and this leads to glitches.

MCA is now planning to divide the companies and LLPs in 4-5 subsets with each having different deadlines. This plan would be akin to GSTR-3B filing on GSTN Portal.

The capacity of the MCA portal is an issue only during Filing Season. During Non-Filing season, the Portal capacity is not an issue. Many professionals, Company Secretaries, and Chartered Accountants expressed their grievances on MCA Portal on Social Media. The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) have made representation to Finance Ministry for Addressal of the MCA Portal Issue.
