Overview:

Microsoft is hiring an experienced Finance Manager at their Hyderabad location. The main focus of this role will be: Gross Margin health (GMH) reporting for Azure including contributing to the monthly / quarterly rhythm, driving content along with working across teams to develop crisp and succinct messaging on Azure business health performance.

What will you be doing:

Perform analysis and research of present and future financial performance, financial plans (e.g., expected returns, resource allocation, pricing, investment opportunities) and economic transactions (e.g., commercial partnerships, acquisitions, etc.).

Assist in the execution of month end close, forecast process, and annual business planning. Complete analysis, modeling, and research to support preliminary and adjusted forecast cycles; partner and solicit insight from business and commercial stakeholders.

Provide business leader support and actionable insights during financial close periods. Review recurring financial reporting and presentations; identify trends and formulate action plans.

Determine financial results (e.g., profitability) and conduct variance analyses; identify cause of variances and solutions. Collaborate to ensure execution of plans and accountability for results.

Provide business insights and recommendations to peers and stakeholders to achieve revenue and profitability goals and drive shareholder return, including resource allocation, cost optimization, revenue generation, trends, and future requirements.

Execute processes through engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

Collaborate with business partners to define action plans for financial and business analysis findings.

Apply understanding of Microsoft Finance and business (e.g., monetization strategy, market, key drivers, revenue channels, advanced technology, and business partner work context) to multiple situations to evaluate results and analysis. Maintain working knowledge of Microsoft financial systems, policies, and processes to evaluate potential impacts of changes, and drive improvements in efficiency and accuracy.

Integrate varied data sources and assimilate the information into a comprehensive, clear narrative. Communicate results in a compelling and understandable message. Ability to understand and show awareness of business partner situations.

Qualifications for this Job:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 2+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience

OR Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field OR equivalent experience

Strong analytical skills, financial modeling capabilities and strategic thinking

Proven Excel and modeling skills

Self-starter who thrives in fast-moving environments with evolving technology and business model trends

Thorough and detailed oriented

Ability to communicate complex analysis in a simple way, written and verbally

Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines, quickly prioritize for impact and the resourcefulness to deliver

Strong process skills with the ability to understand upstream and downstream interactions, with a compliance mindset

Strong partnering capabilities, collaborative and inclusive when working with others
