Ministry of Culture Recruitment 2022: The Ministry of Culture is the ministry operated under the ownership of the Government of India, and it is responsible for the preservation and promotion of art and culture in India. G.Kishan Reddy is currently the Minister of Culture. The Indian government has recently established the National Mission on Libraries India under this ministry. The Ministry of Culture is also known for owning its headquarters located in C-wing, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi, India.

The ministry hires eligible candidates for vacant posts every year. And currently, the recruitment for the post of ‘Director’ is ongoing in the department. The notification for the same can be found published on the official website of the Ministry of Culture, which is www.indiaculture.nic.in. Previously, the last date to apply for the recruitment program was announced to be 8th August 2022.  And as per the recent notification, the last date for the receipt of the application for the mentioned post has now been extended up to 30th September 2022.

Candidates who haven’t applied for the post previously can now fill in the application form up to the mentioned extended date. The recruitment for the post will be on a deputation basis which will be considered valid for a period of up to five years. Currently, there is only one vacancy for the post for which candidates will be able to register by going through the ministry’s official website at www.indiaculture.nic.in.

Eligibility Conditions for Ministry of Culture Recruitment 2022

Educational Qualifications 

The candidates considering applying for the post must possess a Master’s degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a recognized university or institution. In addition, 12 years of professional experience in a library under Central Government or State Government, Autonomous, or Statutory Organization Public Sector Undertaking University, or Recognized Research, or Educational institution will also be preferred for the post. Officers of the Central government, state governments, Union Territories, or semi governments or public sector undertakings, or statutory or autonomous organizations, or recognized research institutions or educational institutions holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or department will be considered eligible to apply for the post.

Age Limit

The age limit preferred to apply for the post of the Director vacant in the Ministry of Culture recruitment 2022 is 56 years as of the closing date of the applications.
