Those who already work in the office under the Central Government or State government or Union Territory administration or public sector undertakings or government universities or recognized research institutions or Semi Government or Autonomous bodies or statutory organizations will be able to apply for the vacant posts. Also, they must be fulfilling the following criteria: for Director: candidates must be holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or department or with five years of service on regular basis in posts in Level-12 in the pay matrix or equivalent in the parent cadre or department. For Deputy Secretary: the candidates holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or department will be able to apply for recruitment in the ministry.

For Under Secretary

Officers who are under the Central Government or State government or Union Territory administration or public sector undertakings or government universities or recognized research institutions or Semi Government or Autonomous bodies or statutory organizations can apply for the job post. Also, they must be holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or department or with five years of service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on regular basis in posts in Level-10 in the pay matrix or equivalent in the parent cadre or department.

Age Limit

The preferred age limit to apply for the job posts available in the Ministry of Science and Technology is 56 years as of the closing date of receipt of applications.
