NATIONAL SINGLE WINDOW SYSTEM
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday launched National Single Window System. The system was launched for investors and businesses. The portal will combine the system of clearance of the centre and state.
The Minister said the portal will become “one stop shop” for all the approvals and also for clearance. It will have the authority to obtain the approvals and clearance which is needed by the investors, entrepreneurs and businesses. The portal for now have the approval of 18 Central Departments and 9 states. Further there will be addition in the above number of departments and states by December, 2021, there will be more 14 Central Department and five states which will be added. This is a really big step for doing the business easily. The system is the result for a need for a contact between business and the government.
The Department for promotion of industry and internal trade was planning to launch the system in April but because of the second wave it got delayed. Then there was a plan for launching it on 15th August but it was in the testing phase and there was many stakeholders who were involved.
NATIONAL SINGLE WINDOW SYSTEM ALSO PROVIDES FOLLOWING ONLINE SERVICES:
The system has excellent information where it gives the list of approvals which is required by the business to start any operations. The system asks the investor many questions about the plans and identifies the suitable plan for the investor which is applicable as per the approval basis and then it provides the responses. This service was launched on 21st July, 2021 with the consent of 32 Central Departments and 14 States.
For the system there was a common registration which was introduced to ensure there is single point of submission of all the information and all documents. If there is any form which is filled again then the system will automatically eliminate the form as the system is auto-populated.
The dashboard provides a single online intervention to apply and the applicant also track the application and can also give responses to queries regarding the approval.
An investor can submit the document once for all the approvals across the centre and state. This helps to reduce the submission of document multiple times.
The system provides for responding to the queries regarding the application received by the Ministries and states.
The beta version is now completed and is now made available to all the stakeholders and also to the public. This version of the portal has approval of the 18 Central Department and 9 States. The objective of the portal is to guide the investors about the list of approvals and which is needed for the business and it is purely based on the information which is provided by the business. There are further 14 Central Departments and 5 States which may added on the list.
The portal will progressively change as per the feedback given by all the user and there may be greater number of approvals on the list.
