NEET PG Hearing 2024: Supreme Court will Shortly Hear Request to Postpone the NEET PG Exam
NEET PG Hearing 2024: On Friday, the Supreme Court will consider a case asking for the 11th August NEET-PG exam to be postponed. The plea contends that candidates have been assigned to cities that are extremely difficult to get to. On Thursday, a bench led by Chief Justice of India (CJI) D Y Chandrachud and Justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra noted the remarks made by attorney Anas Tanwir about the matter.
The petition claimed that numerous candidates had been assigned to cities that would be extremely difficult for them to go to. It stated that the designated test cities were assigned on 31st July and that the particular centers will be announced on 8th August 2024. The plea said that although the centers were assigned to stop malpractices, it is impossible for the applicants to plan their visit to particular places because of their limited time.
“Issue a writ in the nature of Mandamus…the Respondents (National Testing Agency) to reschedule the NEET-PG 2024 examination,” said the appeal that Vishal Soren submitted. The original date of the NEET PG exam was 23rd June 2024. The Union Health Ministry postponed it as a “precautionary measure” in response to reports of anomalies in specific competitive exams.
The petitioners have further requested that candidates be given access to the normalization method for the four sets of question papers in order to prevent any chance of procedural arbitrariness.
