NEET UG 2024 Updates: Supreme Court Said NEET Result 2024 Cancelled for 1563 Candidates; Re-Exam on June 23

The Supreme Court instructed the NTA to withdraw the results and declared today that the NEET results 2024 for the 1,563 applicants who received grace marks are to be cancelled. The NTA informed the top court that the NEET re-exam 2024 for the affected applicants will take place on June 23 and that the results will be released by June 30.

Results of those who do not wish to re-appear will be declared based on actual marks,” the vacation bench made up of Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta stated. “These candidates will be informed of their actual scores, without compensatory marks. Re-exam will be conducted for the affected 1563 candidates.”

The CEO of the EdTech company “Physics Wallah” filed one of the three petitions that the Supreme Court heard challenging the awarding of grace marks, the NEET UG paper leak, and other accusations.

Responding on behalf of the Center, advocate Kanu Agarwal stated: “A meeting was held on the 10th, 11th, and 12th about states of unfair means. The committee has recommended that the 1,563 candidate’s scorecards be cancelled. There will be a reexamination for the impacted candidates.

The two options—appear for re-NEET or consider non-normalized marks—are observed to be “contradictory” by Justice Sandeep Mehta. “That aspect of the result on the basis of compensation marks needs to be cancelled as a whole,” he declared.

In order to ensure an effortless NEET counselling process, Agarwal said that the NEET re-exam for only the affected candidates will take place on June 23 and that the results will be released by June 30.

Highlighting the loss of time experienced by students in 6 exam centres, Advocate Sai Deepak asked the court to require the reopening of the portal so that candidates who select not to appear in court might petition for reexamination.
