NIOS Class 10th and 12th Admission 2024: The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has released a notification to start the admission process for the year 2024-25. According to the released notification, the application process for admission in NIOS classes 10th and 12th has been started. Online applications have been invited for 38 subjects including 19 languages at NIOS Secondary level and 43 subjects including 13 languages at a Higher Secondary level. Any students who want to study 10th or 12th under open schooling can apply before the last date by visiting the official website at sdmis.nios.ac.in.

The National Institute of Open Schooling is the education council of open schools in India. It is an autonomous organization. It was established in November 1989 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The objective is to provide affordable education to the students of remote areas of the country. Like the Central Council of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Uttar Pradesh Council of Secondary Education etc., the National Institute of Open Schooling also conducts examinations at the secondary and higher secondary levels.

With a current enrollment of about 15 lakh students at the secondary and senior secondary levels, it is the largest open schooling system in the world that exists in India. At NIOS, students learn through self-instructional materials, study centres, skill training centres, audio/video programs and live interactives. The fees of open schooling are also less and its certificate is recognized at national and international levels. The Open Board also organizes examinations twice a year.

Age Limit of NIOS Class 10th and 12th Admission 2024:

The minimum age of a student should be 14 years for NIOS Class 10th, whereas for NIOS Class 12th, the minimum age of the student should be 15 years. There is no maximum age limit to apply for admission in NIOS in 10th or 12th.

Application for Vocation Course of NIOS Class 10th, 12th Admission 2024:

NIOS has also started the application process for admission to various vocational courses and open basic education programs along with Secondary and Senior Secondary. There are 92 vocational courses in NIOS. Candidates who want to get admission into these courses, the candidate can apply online through the official website at voc.nios.ac.in on or before the last date.
