For Category-I Stipendiary Trainee/ Scientific Assistant (ST/SA)-Diploma Holders in Engineering:

• Candidates should have diplomas with not less than 60% marks in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics electrical, or electronic engineering recognized by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development. The diploma in engineering should have a 3-year duration after SSC/HSC. OR
• Candidates should have a 2-year diploma through lateral entry into the 2nd year after HSC is approved by AICTE with not less than 60% marks in mechanical, electrical, or electronic engineering.
• Candidates should have had English as one of the subjects either at SSC or at the HSC level examination.

For Category-I Stipendiary Trainee/Scientific Assistant (ST/SA)- Science Graduates B.Sc. (Physics):

• Candidates should have a B.Sc. with a minimum of 60% marks. B.Sc. shall be with Physics as principal and Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics / Electronics & Computer Science as subsidiary OR with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects with equal weightage. Mathematics at the H.S.C. (10+2) level is essential.
• English as one of the subjects either at SSC or at HSC level examinations is compulsory. Candidates having mathematics as the principal subject at B.Sc. are not eligible.
