The Indian government has banned all imports from Pakistan after a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025, which killed 26 people, maximum of them were tourists.
In accordance with the notification issued by ministry of commerce, a provision relating to it has recently been added to Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023, in order to stop direct or indirect import or transit of all goods developing in or exporting from pakistan. Immediate orders have been passed on for implementation.

A new rule titled "Prohibition on Import from Pakistan" has been added to India’s Foreign Trade Policy (FTP). It says that no goods, whether directly or indirectly, from Pakistan can be brought into India, even if those goods are usually allowed. This ban takes effect immediately and will stay in place until further notice.
The decision comes after a deadly terrorist attack on April 22 in Baisaran Valley, near Pahalgam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, where 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed.

- Expelled Pakistani military officers posted in India.
- Suspended the Indus Water Treaty signed in 1960.
- Closed the Integrated Check Post (ICP) at Attari, which was the main trade point between the two countries.
