Apple is hiring an experienced Payroll Analyst at their Bangalore location. Payroll Analysts are responsible for a wide range operations to deliver employees’ pay on time and accurately. They own the performance and the operational excellence of the countries they look after, they make sure the employee experience around payroll matters is optimal and take actions to get taxes paid on time and accurately.
The complete details of this job are as follows:
Process payroll, main and off cycles, ensure employees are paid accurately, in a timely and compliant manner
Execute all other operations related to Payroll: pre-payroll operations (collection of data, import…), post-payroll transactions (tax & benefits payments, PF contributions etc.) – in line with SOX and local requirements,
Ensure sufficient controls are in place to capture changes month-on-month, and that variances are reconciled, investigated and explained,
Bring a high support regarding tax savings programs in India (flexi-benefits, investment declarations, etc.) – Support audits that involve payroll data
Partner with a variety of stakeholders (Payroll Accounting, Finance, Stock, People Teams, Employee Relations, Recruiting, Benefits, Systems…), as well as external vendors (lodgement vendor…) and develop excellent working relationships with them,
Propose proactive changes to current practises to improve efficiency, employee experience and compliance, follow-up on issue resolutions and change implementation,
Bring up India issues to the attention of the payroll leadership team and propose solutions
Stay on top of legislative and business updates through partnerships, newsletters, social watches, etc. and cascade changes operationally
Partner with relevant teams to update internal People communication tools for payroll related information – Join presentations to introduce the activities of our team
Participate in writing and storing processes/work instructions/SOPs/payroll documentation
Participate in a multitude of payroll systems projects (configuration, testing, UAT, etc.)
Support mass recruitment / acquisitions / retail expansion / special projects – Join other People & Finance initiatives and projects impacting
Partner with our People Helpdesk and participate in answering employee queries and grievances within agreed KPIs, record resolutions and actions in our HR CRM,
Explain/simplify complex concepts
Take actions to make the Payroll Employee Experience optimal (information available on our internal HR Website, quality and timeliness of query responses, etc.)
Degree in HR, Accounting or Finance
At least 5 years of experience in processing India payroll, acquired in multinational and multi-sites companies (mandatory)
Good command of ADP GlobalView/SAP Payroll
Good knowledge of India Labour Laws and country practices
Excellent command of Excel (VLookUp, Pivot, etc.)
Fluent communication skills
Amazing interpersonal skills, friendliness and ability to interact with different cultures and build partnerships
Ability to absorb a high volume of work and pressure without compromising the quality of payroll processing and quality of employee experience,
Creativity and proven track record of initiatives to improve/simplify processes or innovations in employee experience,
Excellent organization, prioritisation and multitasking skills,
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to make complex concepts easily understandable by all categories of employees
Ability to manipulate highly confidential data and take measures to protect PII
Curiosity and constant desire to learn and expand knowledge
Attention to detail, structure and precision
Tenacity and action-orientated
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and learn fast
Self-driven, go-getter, independent and autonomous (able to work with limited instructions, remote management)
Ability to deal with ambiguity/uncertainty
Technology savvy
Experience with Workday a plus
Experience with other countries payroll a plus
Experience with an HR CRM ticket system a plus
