Planning to Become a Chartered Accountant After 12th? Know Course Duration, Costs and Preparation Strategy
For students of commerce who want to establish a thriving and renowned career, doing Chartered Accountancy (CA) after Class 12 can be a very good choice. CAs are known individuals in India as they manage important financial tasks of companies and have a respected place in society. But it is not an easy way out and demands years of hard work, patience, and self-control.
The path to becoming a CA generally ranges from 4.5 to 5.5 years, provided each exam is passed in the first sitting. In case of delays or failure, the path can stretch up to 7 years or more.
1. CA Foundation (4–6 Months)
2. CA Intermediate (9–12 Months)
3. Articleship (3 Years)
4. CA Final (6–12 Months)
Starting the CA Journey
Candidates have to register for the CA Foundation exam on the ICAI official website. The registration cost is approximately Rs. 9,200. The Foundation exam consists of four papers:
