Punjab Tax Commissioner told to Clear VAT, GST Refunds by June

Punjab excise and taxes commissioner Kamal Kishor Yadav has ordered all pending VAT and GST cases to be refunded by the end of June. Yadav asked officers to clear pending VAT and GST cases during a review meeting, and he said that he would personally check the work every week. Any sloppiness in this labor, he claimed, was unjustified and unwelcome. The state's tax commissioner indicated that the department would shortly launch a significant campaign to root out sham businesses. He stated that any phoney company attempting to escape taxes through illegitimate tactics will face severe consequences. Every officer, according to Yadav, will be held liable for any fraudulent firm operating in their jurisdiction. On a different topic, Yadav stated that every officer will ensure that all assessment cases were completed by September. Officers should not wait until the end of the fiscal year to finish their work; instead, they should finish it by the end of September by thoroughly analyzing it.
