RBI appoints Dr. Sitikantha Pattanaik as new Executive Director

RBI appoints Dr. Sitikantha Pattanaik as new Executive Director Dr. Sitikantha Pattanaik has been named Executive Director (ED) of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), effective May 1, 2022. Dr. Pattanaik served as an advisor in the Department of Economic and Policy Research before being promoted to ED (DEPR). Dr. Pattanaik has worked at the RBI's Monetary Policy Department and Department of Economic Policy and Research in the fields of economic research and monetary policy over the past three decades. On deputation from RBI, he spent roughly five years with the Central Bank of Oman. Dr. Pattanaik will lead the Department of Economic and Policy Research as its Executive Director (DEPR). Dr. Pattanaik holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Mumbai, an M. Phil in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, a master's degree in International Finance from the University of Amsterdam, and an MA in Economics from Utkal University, among other professional credentials (CAIIB).
