Special Court Convicts and Sentences Two Accused to Three Years Rigorous Imprisonment in Vyapam Cases:

Gwalior Special Court convicts Amitesh and Vipin Kumar in a Vyapam examination impersonation case, awarding three years’ rigorous imprisonment and a Rs 5,000 fine each.
Special Court Imposes Rs 5,000 Fine on Each Accused

The Special Court, Vyapam Cases, Gwalior, has convicted and sentenced two accused to rigorous imprisonment for three years in the Vyapam Cases and, additionally, levied a penalty amounting to Rs 5,000 on each.
The two accused have been identified as Amitesh and Vipin Kumar. The present case was re-registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on August 05, 2015, followed by the order of the Honourable SCI in WP (Civil) Nos. 372/2015 and 417/2015.
Initially, the FIR was registered on March 09, 2015, at PS-Cantt, Guna, following a complaint filed by the Superintendent, Examination Centre, Govt. PG College, Guna.
It was alleged that a person posing as candidate Vipin Kumar was caught in the examination hall because he did not resemble the photograph on the records. The invigilator noticed the mismatch during verification. After conducting a preliminary inquiry, the College Examination Superintendent lodged an FIR against the impersonator at PS/Cantt, Guna.
The accused identified himself as Amitesh, a resident of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, and admitted that he had appeared in the examination on behalf of the original candidate, Vipin Kumar, who is a resident of Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh.
After the closing of the investigation, the CBI filed a chargesheet dated October 06, 2016, against the accused persons. Accordingly, the accused were convicted and sentenced by the honourable court after trial.
