Supreme Court Dismisses SLP Challenging Allahabad High Court Order

Om Prakash Singh filed a Special Leave Petition before the Supreme Court challenging the judgment dated 11.09.2014 passed by the High Court. The petitioner sought interference with the High Court’s decision by invoking the Supreme Court’s discretionary jurisdiction under Article 136 of the Constitution.

The matter came up for hearing before the Supreme Court, where counsel for the petitioner was heard, and the relevant record was examined by the Court.

Main Issue: Whether the judgment of the Allahabad High Court warranted interference by the Supreme Court in the exercise of its special leave jurisdiction.

SC’s Decision: The Hon’ble Supreme Court dismissed the Special Leave Petition. The Court held that it did not find any legal or valid ground to interfere with the impugned judgment of the High Court.

Thus, the SLP was rejected at the threshold.
