Supreme Court Grants Interim Stay on Rs 1,752.37 crore GST Demand Against Delta Corp

Delta Corp Limited informed the stock exchange that the Supreme Court of India has stayed further proceedings in its Rs 1,752.37 crore GST dispute until the final verdict in the related cases.

Supreme Court Grants Interim Stay on Rs 1,752.37 crore GST Demand Against Delta Corp Limited and Its Subsidiary Delta Corp Limited has informed the stock exchange that the Supreme Court has put a temporary stay on its ongoing tax dispute, wherein the Office of the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, Government of Goa, had raised a total demand of Rs 1,752.37 crore on it and its subsidiary, named Highstreet Cruises and Entertainment Private Limited (Rs 1,350.25 crore on Delta Corp Limited and Rs 402.12 crore on Highstreet Cruises and Entertainment Private Limited).

The company had previously, on March 18, 2026, disclosed the receipt of certain notices dated March 17, 2026, on grounds of alleged short payment of taxes (including interest and penalty). These notices were issued under Section 74(1) of the CGST Act, 2017 and the Goa GST Act, 2017, belonging to the Financial Year 2022-23. Through the present intimation, the company has clarified that on April 30, 2026, the Honourable Supreme Court of India had passed an order putting a temporary stay on the further proceedings belonging to these notices till the final disposal of the SLP(C) Nos. 19366-19369/2023 along with all tagged matters. This means that no additional action will be taken by authorities based on these notices until the main case is fully decided.

The Court’s decision came while hearing writ petitions filed by Delta Corp Limited and another party against the Union of India and others. The matter has been linked to a set of ongoing cases (SLP Nos. 19366–19369 of 2023), and the Court has decided to wait for a final ruling in those cases before proceeding further in the current case. The Supreme Court held, "Adjourned to await the decision in SLP(C) Nos. 19366-19369/2023. Meanwhile, further proceedings of all the impugned show cause notices shall remain stayed till the final disposal of the main matter, along with all the matters which are tagged."

Delta Corp Limited has made the aforementioned disclosure to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) Limited through an intimation dated May 01, 2026, issued under Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
