For Assistant Commissioner –

• The candidate should possess any degree and also a degree of Bachelor of Law (3 years course) or a degree of Bachelor of Law (5 years Integrated course) of a University recognised by the University Grants Commission for purpose of its Grant. and
• The candidate should be actually practicing as an Advocate or as a Pleader in a Court of Civil or Criminal Jurisdiction for a period of not less than three years. or
• The candidate should have put in a service of not less than six years in the post of Executive Officer, Grade-I or Grade-II or Grade-III or Grade-IV, or Inspector or Head Clerk or Manager or Superintendent in the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department.

For District Educational Officer (For Open Market candidates)-

• The candidate should have Master’s degree of any University recognized by the University Grants Commission in the State or a degree of equivalent standard in any one of the following subjects namely Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Economics, Geography, History, Commerce, Tamil and English and
• The candidate should have studied Tamil under Part-I or Part-II of the Intermediate or Pre-University Course or Higher Secondary Course and
• The candidate should have Bachelor of Teaching or Bachelor of Education of any recognized University in the State or a degree of equivalent standard.

For District Educational Officer (For the Teacher candidates employed in recognized aided secondary schools and higher secondary schools)-

• The candidate should have a Master’s Degree of any University recognized by the University Grants Commission in the State or a Degree of equivalent standard in any one of the following subjects namely Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Economics, Geography, History, Commerce, Tamil and English and
• The candidate should have studied Tamil under Part-I or Part-II of the Intermediate or Pre University Course or Higher Secondary Course and
• The candidate should have Teaching experience for a period of not less than 12 years in a recognized school after acquiring the degree of Bachelor of Teaching or equivalent qualification.
