• The candidate should have a Master’s degree of any University recognized by the University Grants Commission in the State or a degree of equivalent standard in any one of the following subjects namely Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Economics, Geography, History, Commerce, Tamil and English and
• The candidate should have studied Tamil under Part-I or Part-II of the Intermediate or Pre-University Course or Higher Secondary Course and
• The candidate should have a Bachelor of Teaching or Bachelor of Education of any recognized University in the State or a degree of equivalent standard.

For Assistant Commissioner –

• The candidate should possess any degree and also a degree of Bachelor of Law (3 years course) or a degree of Bachelor of Law (5 years Integrated course) of a University recognised by the University Grants Commission for purpose of its Grant. and
• The candidate should be actually practicing as an Advocate or as a Pleader in a Court of Civil or Criminal Jurisdiction for a period of not less than three years. or
• The candidate should have put in a service of not less than six years in the post of Executive Officer, Grade-I or Grade-II or Grade-III or Grade-IV, or Inspector or Head Clerk or Manager or Superintendent in the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department.

For District Educational Officer (For the Teacher candidates employed in recognized aided secondary schools and higher secondary schools)-

• The candidate should have a Master’s Degree of any University recognized by the University Grants Commission in the State or a Degree of equivalent standard in any one of the following subjects namely Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Economics, Geography, History, Commerce, Tamil and English and
• The candidate should have studied Tamil under Part-I or Part-II of the Intermediate or Pre University Course or Higher Secondary Course and
• The candidate should have Teaching experience for a period of not less than 12 years in a recognized school after acquiring the degree of Bachelor of Teaching or equivalent qualification.
