The College of Engineering Pune (COEP) is a unitary public university of the Maharashtra government located in Pune, Maharashtra, India. The university was established in the year 1854, and it is the third oldest engineering college in India, after College of Engineering, Guindy, established in 1794 and IIT Roorkee, established in 1847. The college offers undergraduate courses of around 2800 and postgraduate courses of around 1000. The college contains around 20 academic staff and administrative staff of around 400.

The Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University College of Engineering in Pune was founded in 1983 as an engineering and technology-focused higher education institution. The College is accredited by NAAC and has received approval from the AICTE, UGC, and NBA. It offers a wide range of BTech and MTech programmes. According to NIRF 2020, the College is ranked 99th for Engineering and 93rd as a private engineering college in Pune. In July 1998, the Dr D. Y. Patil Institute of Technology in Pimpri, Pune, became the Dr D. Y. Patil Women’s College of Engineering. In the academic year 2002–2003, the college changed its name to Dr D. Y. Patil Institute of Engineering & Technology, Pimpri, Pune, and became a co-educational institution. The institute is located near the Pimpri-Chinchwad industrial belt, which is one of Asia’s largest industrial belts. Savitribai Phule Pune University is the college’s parent institution. In 2021, the National Institute of Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked it 172nd in the engineering category.

The Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha (MKSSS) is the parent institution of Cummins College of Engineering for Women (CCEW). Cummins Institution, India’s first all-female engineering college, was founded in 1991 with funding from the Cummins Diesel (India) Foundation.
