Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi

IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) Delhi is one of India’s premier public technical and research universities in India. It is undoubtedly the best engineering college in Delhi. It is located in the Hauz Khas locality of South Delhi. Established in 1961 it is indeed one of the oldest Indian Institutes of Technology in India. Currently, the institute has over 654 academic staff and over 8703 admitted students. With 320 acres of land as its campus, IIT Delhi is a place to reckon with. The institute ranked #2 in the NIRF engineering rankings of 2020. IIT Delhi also got a spot at the QS world ranking at the 54th spot this year. Not only that but the institute has also been decreed in the institutes of national importance and given the status of Institute of Eminence (IoE) by the Government of India. Delhi Technological University, [DTU] Delhi

DTU, also known as Delhi Technological University was formerly called Delhi College of Engineering commonly abbreviated as DCE. DTU is one of the premier state universities in New Delhi, India, and is one of the top engineering colleges in India. It was first established as a Polytechnic in 1941. Later in 1952, it got affiliated with the University of Delhi which enabled them to give degrees. The Government of Delhi has been overseeing the institute since 1963. In 2009, DTU got university status and thus departed from the University of Delhi. Currently, the institute has over 9000 students admitted. The NIRF ranking of DTU in 2020 was #36 while it was placed at #9 position by India Today in 2020.

To seek admission to DTU, students must pass the JEE(Main) exam. Besides the JEE scores, students also need to secure at least 60% in aggregate of Physics, Chemistry, and Maths in their class 12 exam. There is 5% relaxation for OBC-NCL, 5% relaxation for Defence and 10% relaxation for SC/ST/PwD.

Netaji Subash Chandra University, [NSUT] Delhi

NSUT (Netaji Subhas University of Technology) was formerly known as Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology commonly abbreviated as NSIT. It is one of the best colleges in Delhi for engineering. NSUT is a state university located in the Dwarka locality of New Delhi, India. The institute was established in 1983, it was just recently that it was given university status in 2018. Its NIRF ranking in 2020 was #76.

Students need to crack JEE MAIN examination to get through the admission procedure of NSUT. Besides the JEE score students also need to get at least 60% in aggregate of physics, mathematics, and chemistry in their class 12 final exam. There is 5% relaxation for OBC-NCL, 5% relaxation for Defence and 10% relaxation for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women, [IGDTUW] Delhi

IGDTUW is also commonly known as Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women. It is one of the best colleges in Delhi for engineering for girls. As the name suggests it is a women-only university located in New Delhi, India. IGDTUW was first established in 1998 and was called the Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology. It was given autonomy status later in May 2013, thus becoming the first women’s technical university in India by the Government of Delhi. The university offers a variety of programs such as BBA, BTech, MTech, and PhD in four branches of Engineering and Information Technology. Recently in 2015, a five years program in Bachelor of Architecture and Planning was started. Its NIRF ranking in 2020 was #145.

To apply for admission at IGDTUW candidates must pass the JEE main exam. Besides the JEE score students also need to get at least 65% in the 10+2 final examination. There is a 5% relaxation for SC and ST candidates.

Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology,[IIIT] Delhi

Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi is one of the premier state universities located in Delhi, India. IIIT Delhi is a research-oriented institute with the main focus on Computer Science and other allied areas. It comes under the top 10 engineering colleges in Delhi and was established in 2008 with over 60 B.Tech students as its first batch. Currently, around 1700 students are admitted. Its NIRF ranking was #56 in 2020 while it was ranked 14th by India today.

Students must pass the JEE(MAIN) exam. Besides the JEE score, the candidates also need to secure 80% or more marks in the aggregate of the best of five subjects including chemistry, mathematics, and physics in the Class 12 board exam. 5% relaxation for OBC-NCL, PwD, and Defence candidates, and for SC/ST candidates it’s 10% relaxation.
